FAQ for MossTrack

Can I replace the AirTag battery without removing MossTrack?

Yes. The AirTag can be removed from the compartment while MossTrack remains attached to the snowboard.

For easier removal, bring the board indoors and allow the silicone to warm to room temperature.

Can MossTrack prevent snowboard theft?

MossTrack cannot prevent theft or guarantee recovery, but it helps conceal an AirTag and may assist with locating a misplaced or stolen snowboard.

The silicone becomes firmer in cold temperatures, making the AirTag more difficult to remove quickly in typical winter conditions.

Always secure and supervise your equipment whenever possible.

Is an Apple AirTag included?

No. Apple AirTag is sold separately.

Can I use MossTrack to track a child or another person?

MossTrack is designed to track equipment, not people.

An AirTag may provide location updates when it is near compatible Apple devices connected to the Find My network. However, updates may be delayed or unavailable depending on nearby devices, network connectivity, and environmental conditions.

MossTrack should not be relied on as a child-safety device, personal locator, emergency tracker, or substitute for supervision.

How do I install MossTrack?

For best results:

  1. Insert the AirTag into MossTrack indoors at room temperature.
  2. Clean and fully dry the snowboard surface.
  3. Remove dirt, wax, grease, and moisture from the installation area.
  4. Peel off the adhesive backing.
  5. Position MossTrack near the rear binding.
  6. Press firmly across the entire surface.
  7. Allow the adhesive to cure fully before riding.

Do not install MossTrack on a wet, frozen, dirty, freshly waxed, heavily textured, or damaged surface.

Where should I install MossTrack?

Install MossTrack between the bindings, usually close to the rear binding, where your rear boot naturally rests when skating or unloading from the chairlift.

Before removing the adhesive backing, place your boot on the board and test the position.

Can I reposition MossTrack after installation?

No. Once the adhesive has bonded to the snowboard, removing or repositioning MossTrack may weaken the adhesive and damage the product.

Confirm the position carefully before installation.

Can MossTrack be reused on another snowboard?

The AirTag can be removed and transferred between compatible MossTrack pads.

The stomp pad itself is not designed to be removed and reinstalled after it has been adhered to a snowboard.

Will MossTrack stay attached in cold weather?

MossTrack is designed for winter use. Proper surface preparation, installation temperature, pressure, and curing time are important for secure adhesion.

Adhesive performance may be reduced by moisture, dirt, wax residue, extreme temperature changes, or improper installation.

Will MossTrack damage my snowboard?

When installed and removed properly, MossTrack should not normally damage a standard snowboard topsheet.

However, North Moss cannot guarantee compatibility with every finish, coating, textured topsheet, graphic layer, or previously damaged surface. Removal may leave adhesive residue.

Does MossTrack affect the AirTag signal?

The silicone construction is designed to allow normal AirTag operation. However, signal and location-update performance may vary depending on surrounding materials, nearby Apple devices, network availability, and environmental conditions.

Is MossTrack waterproof?

MossTrack is designed for snowy outdoor use, but it is not marketed as a waterproof AirTag enclosure.

Apple AirTag has its own water-resistance rating. Dry MossTrack and the AirTag compartment after use, and avoid prolonged submersion.

What is included in the package?

Each package includes:

  • One MossTrack stomp pad
  • Pre-installed adhesive backing
  • One North Moss sticker

Apple AirTag is not included.
